Marianne Hoover

Marianne Hoover was born on December 19,1936 in Ft Gibson, Oklahoma to Jim & Mary Jane Posey. She passed through the gates of Heaven on September 10th, 2020. She is survived by her husband Doyal, her partner, teammate & best friend (who were married nearly 65 years). They have 3 children – Marsha & husband Jeramy Rhoden, Pamela & husband Shawn Cacy, Larry & wife Julie Hoover along with 9 grandchildren – Lindsay, Aaron, Dalton, Megan, Chad, Ali, Abby, Hudson & Claire plus 9 great-grandchildren.

Mom & Dad moved to Sapulpa in 1972 when they purchased the KFC restaurant in town and operated it for 35 years before other family took over to continue its tradition. They’ve continued to operate multiple businesses together throughout the years and have never stopped working. Mom was a tireless worker and no doubt is tidying things up in Heaven if needed. Mom accomplished so much in this life but her proudest moments revolved around her family and celebrating them & their achievements. She loved watching the grandkids compete in various activities and athletics and was always their #1 fan (the refs often received their due share of Meme criticism). She was known by many names in her life – Daughter, Sis, Mom, MeMe, Little One & others but she excelled in each area.

First Baptist Sapulpa has been their church home for over 40 years. She loved her church family & Sunday school class. Mom relentlessly pursued best choice labels for decades to raise money for the church – Lol. She was active in various groups over the years – Bykota, Christian women, Salvation Army, ABWA and others.

Mom was lovely, kind hearted, full of grace, beautiful inside & out – she radiated Jesus. She was a true matriarch and could light up a room with her smile and laugh, but she was also fiercely loyal and protective of her family.

We will desperately miss her phone calls, hugs, kisses and just the opportunity to spend time together. Our hearts are broken and there’s a hole left that will never be filled – we take solace in knowing she’s with loved ones and resting peacefully with Jesus.

The family is grateful for the many prayers, calls, texts and support through a very difficult time. We’ve lost an absolute angel & anybody who knew our Mom knows that to be true – but our loss is Heaven’s gain.
