Margaret Mae Bozarth McCaskey, age 89, passed from this earth on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loved ones.  Born June 5, 1932 in Council Hill, Oklahoma to Homer and Lorene Bozarth.  She was the 2nd oldest of 8 siblings growing up in Peoria, Oklahoma.  Margaret, living in Checotah, was burned badly while cooking breakfast for her family when she was 16 yrs old and not expected to survive.  She spent 1 yr, 3 months and 10 days in the Hillcrest Burn Center.  Upon leaving the hospital she moved in with her sister Bertha before meeting the love of her life Gene McCaskey. She always said it was love at first sight, they married in Eureka, California on September 18, 1952.  They resided in California for a few years, having 2 children and returning to Claremore, Oklahoma where they had 2 more children before making 52 N Xanthus their home.  One of her favorite memories is the family spending Saturday nights watching her husband race stock cars at the Tulsa Speedway, after the races she would cook hamburgers and shakes for her family.  She was a homemaker, employed as a waitress, ironed clothes, a mail carrier for Independent Postal for 12 years and then an Inspector at Unarco Rubber Plant, lastly she was a team truck driver with her husband for 8 years with Bray Truck Lines.  In the early 1980’s, Margaret and her husband moved to Kellyville and Margaret retired.  She loved many things about her home in the country, she built her own porches, living room and made any repairs.  She worked hard on the landscape, loved tending to her huge garden and creating beautiful flower beds, her favorite flowers were Iris’s and Rose Moss. She could simply outwork anyone!  Having many pets over the years, her dog Poochie stole her heart.  She loved having the family together for the holidays and took pride in her home cooked meals.  Margaret was always proud of her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.  She loved watching any sports her grandchildren were involved in.  She never missed a ball game, if she could be there she was.  After the passing of her husband in 2017, she purchased a new home on her granddaughters property to be close to family and being able to attend her great grandkids ball games.  She spent most her time outside creating new flower beds which she tended to just days before her passing.  She was such a presence in our daily lives she will be missed dearly.  We can’t imagine the reunion you are having and the flowers you have now.
