Laura Gusta Pierce, 101, of Sapulpa passed from this life Monday, November 23, 2020 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  She was born August 3, 1919 to Stiller and Virgie Ramey in Yardelle, Arkansas.

Laura was a beautician and had her own shop at her house in Kiefer.  She loved to cook and garden, and she spent as much time as she could outside working in the yard and in her garden.   It was rare to drive by her house and not see her out outdoors.  She was also a gifted seamstress, there wasn’t anything that she couldn’t make or do when it came to sewing.  She got the name “Granny” when she was a young girl because she loved to sew, and she would make her own clothes, purses and many other things.  She was also quite the handyman; she could fix anything. It wasn’t unusual to see her up on the roof fixing something or working on the mower. She could do it all.  Most of all she was the best mom and especially the best Granny anyone could hope to have.  She truly loved that role and you could see and feel the love shared with her grandchildren.  She made each one feel like they were the most special one. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them.  Laura never met a stranger and everyone who meet her couldn’t help but like her. She was loved beyond words and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents Stiller and Virgie (Reynolds) Ramey; husband Orville Pierce Sr.; sons Buz Pierce and Mike Pierce; grandson Michael Pierce Jr.; brothers L.E. Ramey and Clyde Ramey and sisters Ina Shanks and Mildred McElroy.
