Judith “Judy” Elizabeth Burgess was born on February 24, 1937 in Russellville, Arkansas to Ruth G. (Griffith) and LeRoy S. Tiger. Judith lived in Tulsa, OK and was called to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the age of 82.
Judith attended Sapulpa High School and lived her life as a homemaker, loving wife and mother.
Judith was an incredible seamstress and in her younger years enjoyed sewing and crafting.
She was mild mannered but could let the “Tiger Temper” get the best of her. Unfortunately, she passed that temper on to her girls which as passed down from generation to generation. “Thanks, Mom”.
On December 21, 1953, she welcomed her first daughter, Laurie Ann into this world and on February 16, 1960 welcomed her second daughter, Sandra Dee into the world. She loved her girls more than anything.
Judith married her loving husband, Jimmy Bob Burgess or J. B. as she would say. They married on November 19, 1991 they have been married almost 29 years. J. B. spent every minute he could spoiling her.
Judith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed getting her hair and nails done, loved her jewelry, pool parties, growing flowers, watching the birds, shopping, spending, time with family and taking road trips with her beloved husband, J. B. Her beautiful smile and loving spirit were loved by many and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by husband, Jimmy Bob Burgess; daughter, Laurie Rainbolt and husband, Roy; daughter, Sandra Blackburn and husband, Terry; brother, Ron Tiger and wife, Kay; granddaughter, Tori Blackburn; granddaughter, Allison Brown and husband, Ryan; stepdaughter, Jacqueline Thomas and husband, Jimmy; stepson, Brian Burgess and wife, Kelly; grandchildren, Timothy Burgess, Jordan Burgess, Nathan Bird; great-grandchildren, Ariel Harrington, Emily Edwards and Kyler Bird; great-great-grandchildren, Londynne Ellis, Bentley Ellis and Timothy Hammon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy S. and Ruth G. Tiger; brother, William Keith Tiger; stepdaughter, Jamie Burgess; grandson, Jeffery Allan Edwards; great-grandson, Bobby Joe Harrington; and her best friend, Marietta McGuire.
Memorial service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Smith Funeral Chapel, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main St Sapulpa, OK.
