Joyce Ann Bayouth, age 79, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 22, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joyce was the beloved daughter of Jess and Theresa Guilfoyle. From an early age, she was known for her generosity, unwavering faith, servant’s heart, and joyful spirit. The kindness she extended to others reflected the grace with which she lived each day.
Joyce attended Sacred Heart Catholic School before graduating from Sapulpa High School in 1964. Joyce was married to Larry Bayouth Sr. for 26 years, during which they built a family together and welcomed their four children. She later attended Northeastern State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
Her calling as an educator allowed her to positively impact the lives of countless students at Union Public Schools, Sapulpa Public Schools, and Lawton Public Schools. She believed in every child’s potential, and her kindness and encouragement left a lasting impact far beyond the classroom.
Above all else, Joyce treasured her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose greatest joy was spending time with those she loved. She loved her grandchildren more than anything in this world, and every moment spent with them was her greatest treasure. She created memories that will be cherished for generations. Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Faith was the cornerstone of Joyce’s life. As a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawton, Oklahoma, she found strength and purpose in serving the Lord and faithfully demonstrated Christ’s love through her words, actions, and quiet example.
Joyce is lovingly remembered by her three children and their spouses: Larry and Clareisa Bayouth Jr. of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Lisa and David Madigan Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma; and Steven and Tiffani Bayouth of Richardson, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Johnette Green of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, along with her grandchildren: Emily and Shane Matile; McKenzie and Tanner Martin; David and Audrey Madigan III; Sarah and Jacob McIntyre; Katie Madigan and Reid Garrett; Jake Bayouth; and Caroline Bayouth. Her cherished great-grandchildren include Ella Bayouth, Grace Matile, Matthew Martin, Blakely Brown, David IV and Sutton Madigan, and Jameson McIntyre.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Theresa Guilfoyle; her sister and brother-in-law, Jessie and Marion Horacek; her daughter, Susan Ann Bayouth; and her grandson, Evan Patrick Bayouth.
A Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home, 1502 NW Fort Sill Blvd., Lawton, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joyce Ann Bayouth will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1777 E. Grayson Ave., Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Burial will immediately follow at Green Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 400 E. Teel Road, Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
Though words cannot fully capture a life so beautifully lived, Joyce’s legacy lives on through her faith, the family she dearly loved, and the countless lives she touched. We find comfort in God’s promise of eternal life and the hope of being reunited through Christ.
