John William Hendrickson, age 77, longtime Okmulgee resident now of Sapulpa. Passed away on September 23, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones. John was born March 1, 1945, in Okmulgee to Haydon and Cleta Glen (Hankins). John married Mary J. Tatro on December 31, 1971. They lived in Okmulgee until moving to Sapulpa in 2009. He was the proud father of three children, Brian, Glenn, and Amanda. He loved the Lord and was of the Christian faith. He graduated from Okmulgee High School with the class of 1963. He was employed seven years with the original Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Okmulgee. He worked for Sun Oil Distributing in Okmulgee for 17 years. He retired from the City of Okmulgee after 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenna Hendrickson, father Haydon Hendrickson, brothers Andy Hendrickson, Haydon Hendrickson, and sister Doris Chapman.
John is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary J. Hendrickson, three children Brian W. Hendrickson and wife Dani of Claremore, OK, Glenn M. Hendrickson and wife Jerica of Tulsa, OK, and daughter Dr. Amanda Hendrickson of Sapulpa, OK, two sisters Alice Jeffress and husband Joe Bob of Bixby, OK, Glenna McConnell of Morris, OK, and one brother Donald Hendrickson of Haskell, OK, six granddaughters, one grandson, and one great-grandson.

Viewing will be Thursday September 29, 2022, from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with interment immediately following at Okmulgee Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
