Joe David Renfroe, passed away at his home in Glenpool, Oklahoma on December 26, 2018, at the age of 68. He was born on March 3, 1950 in Harrison, Arkansas to his parents, Joe and Gladys (Smith) Renfroe.

David attended Sapulpa High School as a member of the Class of 1968. He possessed many talents, and was particularly gifted with electronics, computers, and machines. He was among one of the earliest adopters of home computers in the 80’s, and self-taught his way to his final profession as an Embedded Software Engineer, from which he retired in 2017. David enjoyed a love of racing that began in his teenage years. Later in life he was able to devote more time and energy to this passion, and could be found most weekends at Hallett, road-racing the unique BMW/Ford car he built from the ground up. He also enjoyed collecting and shooting firearms. When not at the track, he was likely practicing at the gun range. Last, but definitely not least, was his love for family. He dearly loved his 2 daughters, his many grandchildren, and his siblings, and remained good friends with the mother of his children, Debra (Record) Whittiker. David would drop everything to help his family, and was known by those that loved him as “able to fix anything!” He was well-respected and acknowledged, not just by family, but by a multitude of friends and past coworkers.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Joe and Gladys Renfroe, his sister Deborah Smith, and brother Mark Renfroe. Those left to cherish his memory include daughter Monica Baker and husband Mark of Jenks, Oklahoma; daughter Jill Kurin, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandson Collin Kurin; granddaughter Hallie Kurin; grandson Chase Poston; grandson Noah Poston; grandson Aidan Kurin; grandson Ewan Kurin; grandson Liam Kurin; grandson Brodie Kurin; granddaughter Maizie Kurin. Also his sister Kathryn Cobb and husband Richard of Bixby, Oklahoma; and many nieces and a nephew; great-nieces and nephews, and a great-great-niece and nephews.
