Joan went home to be with the Lord after a long and very courageous battle with breast cancer on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. She was surrounded by family and the angels came and called her peacefully.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John Scribner, of 48 years. She was a dedicated mother and wife. She had 6 wonderful children, Mark (Connie) Kollath, Joan (John) Schell, Mary Scribner, Mike (Lisa) Kollath, Michelle Davis and Jaime (Jeffrey) Welch. Joan is also survived by her (9) grandchildren, Jacob Schell, Nicci Kollath, John Schell, Cameron Kollath, Darian Welch, Danielle Kollath, Sabrina Welch, Gannon Welch, Tanner Kollath and two great-grandchildren, Flynn Schell and Deegan Kollath. She is also survived by her sister and brother, Judy (Ernie) Kurginski and Daniel (Dorothy) Evison as well as sister-in-law, Elsie Evison and six nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her brother David Evison and her parents Jesse C. Evison and Marie D. Evison.
Joan enjoyed her family, the beach but most of all, her love for rescuing animals! She has rescued and raised robins, doves, turtles, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, chinchillas, parakeets and fish.
