On Saturday, July 4, 2020, Jay Gorman loving husband and father of three children passed from this earth and went to be with the Lord.

Jay was born on December 1, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas to James and Annie (Karajohn) Gorman. At the age of 14, Jay moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma to live with his father and stepmom Carmelita.  He had many cherished memories of his time with Jim and Carmelita.  On October 9, 1993, Jay married the love of his life, Virginia (Susie) Willis. 

Jay studied Welding at Sapulpa Vo-Tech in Oklahoma. Later in life he received his Operator of Process Technology at Lee College in Baytown, Texas. He worked for Rohm and Haas, and Dow Chemical in Deer Park, Texas. The last few years Jay enjoyed traveling the United States working turnarounds, which offered him time to travel with his wife and visit family along the way.

Jay loved his family. He loved woodworking, golfing, hunting, fishing, and drawing.

Jay is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Carmelita Gorman and Annie Karajohn Heflin and brother Randy Powers. He is survived by his wife, Susie Gorman; three children Crystal Welch and husband Morgan of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, James Gorman III of Deer Park, Texas and Kaitlyn Gorman of Deer Park, Texas; four grandchildren Trinity, Lindsey, Caedmon, and Anna Marie; sisters Arlita Raby of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tracy Heflin of Fort Worth, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Sunday, July 19, 2020 4:00pm-6:00pm at Smith Funeral Home. Graveside service will on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 10:00am at the Old Sapulpa Cemetery.
