James Daniel Lackey III (81) of Kiefer, OK was born August 6, 1940, and departed this world March 11, 2022. “Jimmy Dan” was a life-long resident of Kiefer and a graduate of Kiefer High School, Class of 1958. He attended Tulsa Technology College of Drafting.
Jimmy married the love of his life, Norma Lorene Norris, on February 23, 1960 at Evangelistic Tabernacle in Sapulpa, Ok. Jimmy and Norma had two children, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, all of whom he doted over and loved unconditionally.
Jimmy had a long and successful career in the oil industry, and excelled at every role he held – pumping, roustabout, welding, fitting and jig building, lease operating, and offshore platform drilling and operating in Louisiana and California. Jimmy retired from Chevron (formerly Gulf Oil Co.) in 1999.
Jimmy and Norma loved to travel with their children, exploring the States and their histories. Jimmy enjoyed woodworking as a hobby and could fix or build quite literally anything. He was always researching and thinking – whether technical, historical, or mechanical, he loved a good challenge.
