James Heller

James Arthur Heller (Jake) 81 years old.
Jake, a Sapulpa resident 42 years, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on the evening of August 7, 2019.
Jake was born January 22, 1938 in Caney, KS to Charles and Lucille Heller. He graduated from Jenks High School and served in the Air Force. He was employed by the FAA as an Air Traffic controller and honorably discharged August 1962. He later worked for Citgo Petroleum Corporation as a pilot. Jake married the love of his life, Charlotte, on February 16, 1957. They enjoyed 62 years together.
Jake was known as a hard worker, loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing cards, working on his land, and spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife, Colleen were members of Fireside Church in Kiefer.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Colleen; sisters, Margaret Dodds, and Christine Harjo; and brother, Bo Heller.
He is survived by his son, James D. Heller and wife, Debbie of Tulsa as well as daughter, Rachelle Heller of Sapulpa; grandchildren, James R. Heller and wife, Ashley of Sapulpa, Jason Heller and wife, Paige of Bristow, Brandi and husband, Chris Wagner of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Mollie, Garrett, Amelia, Hunter, Bayleigh, Conner Heller and Sophia Wagner; brother, Bill Heller and wife, Linda of Broken Arrow as well as many other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are welcome to the viewing at Smith Funeral Home on Monday, August 12, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 10:00 am, 1208 S Main St. Sapulpa.
Interment to follow at Bixby Cemetery, 6308 OK HWY 67 Bixby, OK.
Lunch will be provided at Fireside Church in Kiefer following the Interment, 714 Indiana Ave, Kiefer, OK.
