Helen was born December 10, 1926 in Memphis, TN to Stella Mae (Gryder) and Charles Albert Ellis. She was the second of three 3 children and the only girl. She passed from this life on Monday, January 07, 2019 in Sapulpa, OK at the age of 92 years.
She met her husband, Frank A Dean in Memphis and they were married June 23, 1946 in Hernando, MS. Of this union, 4 children were born. Glen A Dean, Sheryl L (Dean) Lake, Larry R Dean, Bruce E Dean.
Helen and Frank spent their younger years moving between Memphis, TN and Dallas, TX before settling in Tulsa.
Helen enjoyed: bingo, ceramics, card and board games, traveling back to East Tennessee and Texas to visit family and friends, RV trips with the Frisco Rail Runners club, working the elections and sharing her memories with anyone that would listen.
Helen grew up in the Baptist Church but converted to Catholicism. She attended St. Catherine’s Church in Southwest Tulsa.
Helen loved and was always thinking of her family. She loved spending time with them and was always there when needed.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Frank. Her grandchildren, Gina Dean, Dena Dean, Fayth Dean. Her parents, Charles and Stella Ellis. Her brothers, Clarence Ellis and Lawrence Ellis. Her Son-in-Law, Kenneth Lake.
Helen is survived by children, Glen (Rita) Dean, Sheryl Lake, Larry (Diana) Dean, Bruce (Fee) Dean. Grandchildren, Cherie Northern, Kenneth Lake, Michael Lake, Jasen Lake, Melinda Downs, Billy Dean, Nathan Dean, Hannah Wells, Joel Dean, Isaac Dean, Robert Dean, Angela Hinson, Jonathan McCully, Norman McCully, Lawanda Carter. 22 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, 1 God-Son, Robin Moore. Sisters-in-Law, Sue Ellis of MS and Lillian Burford of TX. Daughter-in-Law, Michelle Dean. Aunt, Imogene Prince of Seymour, TN. Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Many thanks to all the staff at The Gardens in Sapulpa, Ok and Physicians Choice Hospice for your care and love during her final months. Visitation for Helen will be held 8am-8pm on Tuesday, January 8th, 8am-8pm on Wednesday, January 9th and 8am-5pm on Thursday, January 10th.
A rosary service is scheduled for 6pm on Thursday, January 10th at the Heath-Griffith Funeral Chapel under the direction of Deacon Craig Victor and a funeral mass is scheduled for 11am, Friday, January 11th at the Heath-Griffith Funeral Chapel under the direction of Father John Grant. She will be laid to rest in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Lake, Michael Lake, Jasen Lake, Billy Dean, Steven Northern and Delton Lake. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Dean, Joel Dean, Isaac Dean, Tyler Lake, Jonathan McCully, Norman McCully and Noah Downs.
