Gene Bible, 85, of Sapulpa Oklahoma went to be with the Lord, on April 1, 2020, at Saint Johns Hospital surrounded by his family. Gene was born May 17, 1934, in Mannford, Oklahoma to William McHenry Bible and Georgia Brown Bible. He attended school in Sapulpa and Chilocco Indian School. He worked for many years at First National Bank and later was self-employed in painting and restoration. Gene met his future wife Diana Lynn in 1986 and they married in 1989, celebrating 31 years of marriage. He attended Grace Church in Tulsa until his failing health prevented him from attending church. Gene’s love was fishing, camping and golfing. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Diana Lynn Bible; children Roman Bible, Eugene Bible, Mark Bible, Matt Bible, James Bible; Stepsons John Wilson and J.R. Bevenue Jr. Daughter Susan Groff; and 21 Grandchildren and 38 Great-Grandchildren; Brother Andy, Burtis, James and Johnny; and one sister Dorothy McNac and a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by three sons Dana Bible, Michael Bible and Mike Horton Bible of Oregon his parents William and Georgia Bible. Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 2020 5:00pm-7:00pm at Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Limited to 10 people at a time for visitation. Services will be Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 2:00pm at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Burial will be at South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Services are under the Direction of Smith Funeral Home.
