Dora Alberding passed away at home, on Thursday, February 13, 2020 and finally rejoined the love of her life. She was 86 years old.
She was born on February 3, 1934 to Frankie and Eunice Staiger in Kellyville, Oklahoma. She married Harold Dean Alberding on October 16, 1953.
She was a homemaker and in early years, made the best Christmas candy and enjoyed giving it to everyone for gifts. She was a wonderful seamstress, meticulous housekeeper and loving mother and grandmother. She loved reading her bible and had a personal library of reference books and variations of bibles. She had one passion above all others though … she loved cats. There was never a time in her life that she didn’t own at least one cat. Most of the time, she had 2 to 3 at a time. Nothing was more special to her than to have a cat in her lap showing her unconditional love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean, her parents Frankie and Eunice Staiger, her sister, Virginia Shelton and brother Grant Staiger.
Survivors are her son, Larry Alberding of Tulsa, Terri Alberding Legrand and her husband, Stephen and her grandson Ryan Dean Legrand all of Sapulpa. Other survivors include sister-in-law, Mary Marie Staiger and sister-in-law Donna Jo Alberding and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Per her final wishes, she requested to have no funeral. A family and friends visitation is planned for Monday, February 17, 2020 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at Traditions Funeral Home in Kellyville. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Sapulpa Animal Shelter, 8812 West 100th Street South, Sapulpa, OK 74066 in honor of Dora Alberding.
The family would like to send a special Thank You to Sapulpa St. John Hospice and Traditions Funeral Home (Tim & Jodi Tyler) for the love and compassion they have shown us during this difficult time.
