Donald Lee Bristol born December 12, 1945 in Sapulpa, OK to Ivan C and Lola Fern Bristol. Donald passed from this life at 11:14 A.M. on June 24, 2019 surrounded by his family and friends. He was 73 years old.

After he graduated High School, he married Linda Gay Cordray and had 2 children Donald Lee Bristol Jr. and Tammy Lee Blevins. Later Don married Dorothy Lee Mitchell on November 15, 1978.

Donald joined the United States Marine Corps in January 3, 1966 and was Honorably Discharged December 10, 1969 with the rank of Corporal.

Donald was a member of the Sapulpa Elks Lodge #1118 for 47 years.

He fulfilled his lifelong dream when he became the 3rd generation working for Frisco Railroad. His grandfather was a car man, his father Ivan was a Locomotive Engineer, Donald also became a Locomotive Engineer following in his father’s footsteps until he was injured while on duty and had to retire March 1994.

After his retirement Don had many interests 1st and most important was riding his Harley motorcycle. His other interests included licensed “Ham” radio operator AKA Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator since September 14, 1988, which included being an Extra Class Accredited Volunteer Examiner until June 19, 2018. He was a licensed airplane pilot for 4 and 2-seater single prop planes. He built and flew model planes and helicopters along with newer model of the remote-control quadcopter drones with cameras. He also dabbled in wine and beer brewing.

Don is survived by Dorothy Lee Bristol his wife of 41 years. His son Donald Lee Bristol Jr. and wife Carolyn, his daughter Tammy Lee Blevins, grandchildren Bradley Bristol, Jessica Bristol, Chase Spangle, TJ Blevins, Westley Blevins and Ronnie Mitchell, and Great-grandchild Avery-Ann Blevins. Also survived by siblings Linda Sands and husband Glen, and Charles Bristol and wife Mary, as well as many more family and friends.

Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, July 1, 2019 at Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel.
