A former, long term resident of Sapulpa, Dixie Lee (Hughes) Doshier, 81, passed from this life in Bixby, OK in the early morning hours of Saturday 9/19/2020.

Dixie was born on January 12, 1939 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Watts and Dixie Hughes. She married Donald Doshier on March 20, 1958 where they lived together and built a life in Sapulpa. Dixie worked for the Pontiac dealership, Oklahoma Natural Gas Company, and later became a business owner of the Merle Norman Cosmetics for many years and also had a handcrafted doll business before her retirement.  She was a previous member of the Church of the Nazarene and also attended Westside Baptist Church in her later years. She enjoyed and shared many activities with friends over the years and enjoyed and supported her family with activities at the lake, vacations, school functions and trips. She built, bought, and sold many houses in her later years and loved to decorate her homes – it was always a warm place to be.

She is survived by daughters, Nelda Nelson of Broken Arrow and Lisa McAlister and husband Jeff of Flower Mound, Texas: grandchildren, Daniel Nelson and wife , Anna, Shelby Sager and husband Charles, Patrick McAlister, Jessalyn McAlister, great grandchildren Beau and Ali Nelson and a new expected 2021 great grandbaby to the Sager family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Doshier, parents, Watts and Dixie Hughes, Sister, Donna McIntosh and Brother, Sonny Hughes.

Family and friends visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, September 23 at 2:00pm at the Sapulpa Church of the Nazarene 302 south Elm Street, Sapulpa, Ok 74066.
