David Tittle

David Ronald Tittle Sr. was born June 3, 1939, in Morris, Oklahoma to Woodrow and Lois Tittle. He graduated from Morris High School in 1958. He was employed by Wheatly Gaso where he retired after thirty years.

In 1962, while working at United Supply Company selling oilfield products in Lindsay, Oklahoma, David was drafted into the United States Army. He faithfully served his country in the Second Armored Division of Hell on Wheels in Killeen, Texas.

David met the love of his life in 1959 Helen Elaine Johnson of Okmulgee, OK. They were married at The Second Baptist Church July 17, 1959, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Sapulpa where he served as a greeter and volunteered in several community projects.

David volunteered for CASA as support for the program activities, RSVP, Sapulpa Community Theater taking tickets and seating, Caring Community Friends packing food for the after-school backpack program, and Daughters of the American Revolution, which his wife is member, helping with various activities.

David enjoyed time traveling and visiting all fifty states as well as several countries. Camping, gardening, snow skiing and attending live concerts are some activities he also enjoyed. He was an avid fan of OU and loved almost any sport. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. He looked forward to any time he could get together with his entire family. He had a loving heart and was loved by all. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents Millie Vineyard Craig and Fred Craig, Elizabeth Buffington Tittle and William Robert Tittle as well as parents Lois Virgina Craig Tittle and Woodrow Tittle.

He is survived by his wife Helen “Elaine”, children David Ronald Tittle Jr. and Jana Dee Tittle Barrett and husband David M. Barrett, grandchildren Megan Elaine Barrett Strimple and her husband Josh Strimple, Blake Andrew Barrett, and his wife Meghan Causby Barrett, Kyle Patrick Barrett and one great grandchild Madelyn Grace Strimple, siblings Jo Ann Tittle Mills. Woody Tittle and many other nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville.

David’s service will be Friday, January 14 at 10:00am at Faith Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma
