Darlene Janice Kennedy passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on Friday, February 28, 2020, at the age of 88 years. Darlene was born on January 5, 1932 in Bristow, OK to her parents, Seamon and Julia (Kuykendall) Smith.

Janice spent 38 years as a foster care provider, and still had a close relationship with many of the people that she cared for. She would take in absolutely anyone and cook for them or provide them with anything that they needed.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents Seamon and Julia, 7 of her 13 siblings, Joyce Stubblefield, Nita Watts, Seamon Smith, twins Gerald and Merle Smith, Glen Smith and a stillborn sibling, and 3 of her 6 children; Bobby Jackson, Julia “Judy” Spangler and Michael Holden.

Darlene leaves many loving memories with her family, her daughters Brenda Jetton and Ginny Williams both of Glenpool, OK, her adopted son Jeremy Kennedy of Glenpool, OK; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 6 of her siblings, Louise Campbell, Nadine Plum, Claton Smith, Charlie Smith, Melton Smith and Jackie Smith, along with many other loving relatives and a host of friends.

A visitation will be at Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 5:00pm – 8:00pm.

The funeral for Janice will be held at Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 11:00am.
