Clarice (Clark) White

Clarice Ellen (Clark) White of Sapulpa, passed away on August 28, 2023 at the age of 93.

Clarice was born on August 4, 1930, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Clare and Florence Clark. After Clarice graduated from Will Rogers High School she attended Phillips University for two years. She graduated in 1952 from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.  

Upon graduation, Clarice went on to teach music at Oakhurst in Tulsa, OK. 

After meeting Robert Glenn White, JR., M.D. at Wheeling Avenue Christian Church in Tulsa, OK, the couple married in 1953. Together they raised four children, Robert III, Robin, Susan and Ronald. The family settled in Sapulpa and were active members of 1st Presbyterian Church.

Clarice and Robert enjoyed sixty years of marriage before his passing in 2013.

Clarice had many interests in life. She enjoyed family vacations in Colorado where she liked to hike Lake Cataract and collect wildflowers. She found relaxation in reading and listening to music. But, what she loved most was her family.  

Clarice is survived by her daughter, Robin White Mahone, D.D.S. and Dave; son, Hon. Ronald White; son-in law, Greg Lukeman; daughter-in-law, Jean Ann White; and brother, Ronald Clark.

She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Claire Mattocks, D.O. and Hunter; John Lukeman, D.O. and Lauren; Anna Proctor and Brett; Taylor Wagner and Tom; Ben Mauldin and Leslie; Bonnie Schneberger and Adam; and Robert White, IV.

Clarice was the doting great-grandmother of ten great-grandchildren: Reese, Robert, Rhett, Leah, Lydia, Meredith, Brady, Susanna, Lillian and Nora.

Clarice was predeceased by her parents, Clare and Florence Clark; husband, Robert White JR, M.D.; son, Robert White, III; daughter, Susan Lukeman; and daughter-in-law, Leah White.

A celebration of Clarice’s life will be held at 1st Presbyterian Church of Sapulpa, Friday, September 15, 2023, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wally Johnson presiding.
