Bonnie “Edith” South of Glenpool, OK passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at home at the age of 98. She was born on December 3, 1920 in McDonald, Missouri to Clarence Knisley and Nova (Berry) Knisley.

Edith graduated from Pineville High School, Pineville, Missouri. She worked for Convair a part of General Dynamics for 12 years (1951-1963). She worked on connecting the wing to the aircraft. After leaving Convair, Edith became a pastor’s wife and homemaker. She and Ray were in ministry for forty years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nova Knisley; husband, Hardy Ray South; son, Charles Keith South; sisters, Norma Cleora Hall and Alice Grace Lobb; brothers, Loyd Knisley and Clyde “George” Knisley.

Edith is survived by her daughter, Glenna Ellis; brother, Kenneth Knisley; granddaughter, Janet Watson and husband Jeffrey; great grandchildren Megan and Jeffrey Watson, II.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make donations in Edith’s memory to the building fund of First Baptist Church, Glenpool, OK.

A visitation will be held Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on May 10, 2019 at Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, 719 E 141st Street, Glenpool, OK 74033.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Glenpool, OK. Burial will be the following week at Ft Gibson National Cemetery, Ft Gibson, OK.
