Billy Johnson

On March 7, 2021, Billy Ray Johnson, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed from this walk of life at the age of 85. Billy was born November 3, 1935 in Jenks, Oklahoma to Rufus Tandy and Nora Ellen Johnson. He married Ruth Carolyn Massey, the love of his life, on January 16, 1955 in Oakhurst, Oklahoma. They were married for 58 years and were blessed with three boys: Michael, Bill, and Steve. They lived in Berryhill, Oklahoma for 40 years until the new turnpike bought them out. During that time, Billy worked as a truck driver for Lee Way Motor Freight for 20+ years before he retired. Then they bought their home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and called it “Hidden Haven” where they lived the remainder of their lives. During his life, Billy had enjoyed competitive motorcycle racing, fishing, and was always tinkering on something. He had also taught an adult Sunday School class and loved to study the bible every day. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Carolyn; father, Rufus and mother, Nora; sisters, June and Betty; brothers, John and Ronnie. He is survived by his three sons: Michael of Tulsa, Bill and his wife, Jeannette of Tulsa, Steve and his wife, Tina of Kellyville; five grandsons: Bill Jr., Joshua, Paul, Lucas, and Kevin; four granddaughters: Kimberly, Christina, Dawnnette, and Ciara; five great grandsons: Braden, Rylan, Cameron, Brett, and Rhettly; two great granddaughters: Haylee and Raynnette; three sisters: Erma, Carolyn, and Sharon; and numerous nieces and nephews. His final resting place will be at Sunrise Cemetery in Kellyville, Oklahoma.
