Billy Joe Childress was born May 7, 1949 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Bill and Dorothy Childress. He departed this life February 21, 2020 at the age of 70.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On October 13, 1969 Billy Joe Childress and Regina Lynn Little were united in marriage. From this union were born three sons, Mark Wayne, Jody Dale and Craig Eric.
Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars. He enjoyed working on anything mechanical. He also loved family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Regina Childress of the Seminole home; three sons, Mark Wayne Childress of Bristow, Jody Dale Childress of Sapulpa and Craig Eric Childress of Bristow; seven siblings, Lavonne Boyd of Erick, Oklahoma, Gerald Childress of Stroud, Ellen Boyd of Erick, Oklahoma, Sharon Butts of Bristow, Ronald Childress of Bristow, Brenda Brown of Broken Arrow and Ethel Schuller of Milfay; three grandchildren, Joshua Freeman, Brooklyn Childress and Brittany Childress and numerous other relatives around the Bristow area. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred Childress.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00PM, Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Chapel.
