A funeral service honoring and remembering the life of Billy “Bill” Clay Yarbrough will be held Thursday April 26, 2018 1 PM at Schaudt’s Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bill passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was 77.
Bill was born October 15, 1940 in Ada Valley, Arkansas. He was the son of Gyva (Davis) Yarbrough and Clay Yarbrough.
He was a 1958 graduate from Central High School and then went on to serve our country in the United States Army as an engineer. After the service Bill continued his education at Tulsa University.
In 1964 Bill married the love of his life, Celia (Maxwell) Yarbrough at Central Assembly of God Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma., where he was a member.
He was a Corporal with the Tulsa Police Department until his retirement in 1997.
Bill loved to read books and was an avid stamp and coin collector. Bill was proud of the stamps and coins he has collected throughout the years and loved to talk about them. He was a history and geography enthusiast. He could look at any map in the world and tell you facts about every country. Bill was a lover of all animals, especially the family dogs. Maggie, their lab was a huge part of his life. As a father he would take his children to the movies and was always helping them with school papers and projects. Bill was a polite and easy going guy with a big heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gyva Davis Yarbrough and Clay Yarbrough.
Survivors include his loving wife, Celia (Maxwell) Yarbrough; daughters, Christa Yarbrough and Allyson Beck; son, Ian Yarbrough and four grandchildren, Sierra, Grayson, Gage and Olivia.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Bill to the Humane Society of Tulsa.
