Billie Demeter

Billie Jean Demeter was born on April 19, 1926, to parents, Johnnie and Peggie Jones, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She passed away on February 10, 2022, at 95 (almost 96, in April) years of age. On May 12, 1945, in Jenny Lind, Arkansas she married Marvin J. Demeter and they moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Billie was a housewife while her children were in school. Later she worked for many years at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home before retiring to care for her husband full time. Music was one of the things Billie loved, particularly Patsy Cline and Daniel O’Donnell; but she REALLY loved to dance. If you were standing still while there was music playing, she would grab on to you and start dancing. Another of her favorite things to do was baking; being known for her pecan and apple pies, but if it was sweet, she would bake it. Billie created beautiful embroidery and crochet works; she loved gifting them to family and friends. Over the years, she entered several pieces of her work (as well as her baked goods) in to the Creek County Fair and won many ribbons. Billie Demeter was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marvin. She is survived by, two sons: Johnny Demeter and wife Trisha of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Gary Demeter and wife Kelly of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Christopher, Alan, Michelle and husband Mike, Ryan, and Eric Huff and wife Erin; six great grandchildren: Kaylee, Jaydon, Grayson, Kloe, Gabriel, and Daniel; her brother Nelson Jones and wife Suzie of Two Harbors, Minnesota; four nieces: Lonyll Johnson and husband Brian, Tricia Kemfert and husband Dick, Cindy Ogren, and Vickie Johnson; and grand nephew and nieces: Gunner, Olivia, and Erika.
