Funeral services for Barbara will take place at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater, OK at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 1, 2020.
Born Jun. 18, 1933 in Sapulpa, OK, Barbara Jean Duckert was the youngest child of Edward and Cora Duckert, after Erma, Ed (Agnus), Kenneth (Edna), Doug (Imogene) and Bob (Helen). She was married to Troy Lawson on Dec. 23, 1950 in Sapulpa where she graduated from high school in 1952. They had six children together, Darlene, Debra, Denise, Mike, Deanna and Ed, before Troy proceeded her in death in 1968.
In 1973 Barbara married Armando Contardi in Stillwater, and they welcomed daughter Emilia in 1974.
While raising her family, Barbara began working at the Oklahoma State Student Union in 1971, as the Catering Manager and it launched a career that spanned over 30 years. She was the definition of a hard-working family woman, who was completely devoted to her family, and those she chose to call her family. She had a strong will, was quick to speak her mind, and was a mother to all who knew her. Her kind heart and quick wit will be greatly missed- but always fondly remembered.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband, Troy; daughter, Debra; and granddaughters, Amber and Meredith.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Darlene Lawson, John Olds, Denise Lawson, Mike and Maureen Lawson, Ed and Shelly Lawson, Deanna Lawson, Emilia Contardi and Mark Meyer. She is survived by her 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, sister-law Helen Duckert, Shirley Lawson and her brother-in-law Marvin Lawson.
