Barbara Doty, age 79, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.  at Smith Funeral Home Chapel.  Anyone is welcome to speak or sing.

Barbara Doty- a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2021.

Born in 1941 in Moore, OK to Paul and Laura Turnbow who have preceded her in death. Barbara attended Moore High School and graduated in 1959. Soon after she met the love of her life Carl Doty and they were married in 1967.  Their life together took Barbara to Texas, Idaho, Montana, and back to her home state of Oklahoma. Throughout Barbara’s life her faith was obvious in her quiet gentle nature. She enjoyed singing in church and mentoring the youth. She especially loved singing hymns and it showed in her sweet delicate voice. Barbara will be remembered as a tender hearted beautiful soul who loved being out in nature with God’s creatures. She was an avid reader and found happiness in life’s simple pleasures like a good cup of morning coffee and a sweet bite of dark chocolate before bed. Her kind spirit made it obvious that she loved her family and friends unconditionally and they brought her the greatest joy.

Barabara’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her adoring husband Carl, children Tim Doty, Michelle Combs, Shawna Meyers, and Chad Doty, her 11 grandchildren, and brothers Bill and Larry Turnbow.

On the morning of her passing, Barbara found comfort in this verse “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God our Savior Jesus Christ;” Titus 2:13
