Arthur (Art) Evans was born July 4, 1941 in Riverside California to Mattie (Cricket) Thornburg –Goins and Paul J. Evans.  His father worked for the railroad.  After a long battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy body dementia he left this life on March 20, 2020 for the eternal fishing hole in the sky.

He went to Sapulpa High School and graduated from Wellston High School.

In addition to loving and spending time with his family, Art enjoyed square dancing, fishing and hunting.  He especially loved stripper fishing on Texoma Lake, walleye fishing in Canada and pheasant hunting in Kansas.   Later in life he proudly earned his pilots license.

Art was a Sp-3 E-4 with the Oklahoma National Guard from 1956-57.  He was a member of the Sapulpa Masonic Lodge and later became an active member of the Tulsa Akdar Shrine.  In the 1970’s he purchased and operated Radial Electric in Sapulpa, Ok.  He was active in the Sapulpa Auxiliary Police and held the rank of Captain.  He opened the Locke Supply in Sapulpa and managed it for over 10 years.  Later he managed multiple Locke Supply Stores in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 8 Years Chloe Davis-Evans.

Art was survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Judy Evans.  Three daughters Rhonda (Keith) Harp of Sapulpa, Ok, Lisa Howerton-Argo of  Noble, Ok and Mysti (Rob) Reneau, Spokane, WA.  Three step children Diane (Mike) Bates of Tulsa, OK, Dewayne Patton of Coweta, OK and Candie (Steve) Jones of Mounds, Ok.  He’s also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren which he loved.

A Family Viewing will be Monday, 9-9 at Moore Funeral Home in Tulsa at 9350 E. 51st Street.  The Service will be Tuesday, 1:00 at Green Hill Funeral, 400 E. Teel Road, Sapulpa, OK.

A celebration of life will be held on July 4th, his 79th birthday.
