Anthony Tulsa was born on November 9, 1952 in Tulsa, Ok to the late, Mae and July Tulsa. On the morning of June 27, 2020 Tony’s work for the Lord was completed and he took his place at the Lord’s table at the age of 67.

Tony had many talents and he began drawing as soon as he was able to hold a pencil. He attended Tulsa Public Schools. At Hamilton Junior High he was a drummer who competed in drum competitions. At Will Rogers High School he was in the marching band and ran track before graduating in 1971. Soon after he furthered his education at the Indian Art Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He then joined the United States Navy and was discharged after 3 years of service and later meeting his wife Ellen. He made a living as a professional painter and sold his Indian artwork.

Tony gave his life to Christ at an early age, he went to church camps, youth rally’s and soon became the conference youth president for the OIMC. Tony loved the Lord and always had a word to say or a song to sing as he played his guitar.

He went to Tulsa Culinary Art School where he became a chef. Always having a smile on his face and a jolly laugh. He enjoyed family get togethers and he loved hamburgers. After retiring, his health began to fail but he kept the faith saying, I’m going to walk again. Today he is walking! Left to cherish the memories are, his wife Ellen Tulsa of Tulsa. Sister’s Juanita Thompson, Genelle Myer and Katherine Tulsa, all of Hectorville. Also many nieces and nephews and two close friends, Charles “Chuck” Wimer  and Roger Anderson who were like brothers and many others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mae & July Tulsa. Two sisters, Marilyn Tulsa, and Gloria Ware. Three brothers, Joe Monroe Tulsa, Johnny Tulsa and Garry Berryhill. Grandmother Sakie Bighead, and other family members. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, until we meet again!

There will be a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville.  A memorial service will be at 7:00pm, Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Morning Star Evangelistic Center, 14248 Hectorville Rd., Mounds, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services.
