Anna Dobrinski

Anna Q was born July 24, 1926 to Jay Calvin & Nettie Lou (Loftis) Phillips. Jay homesteaded in Delaware County, Oklahoma. Remarkably, all eleven of their children lived into adulthood. Anna had an active childhood swimming, climbing trees and riding horses. She and her mother were both known to be excellent cooks. The letter Q being the whole of Anna’s middle name led her to often use the full name of others. She graduated from Jay High School and briefly taught in a one-room schoolhouse.

Anna married C. E. “Bob” Dobrinski on April 27, 1945 in Coffeyville, Kansas. They were blessed with four children, raised attending the Luthern Church in Avery, OK.

Anna operated a hair salon out of their home in Depew in the 1960’s. She received her degree from OSU and became a life-long Cowboys fan. She retired from teaching cosmetology at Tulsa Vo-Tech. She was active with the Jay School Alumni for several years. Anna enjoyed playing golf, especially with her grandson.

She went home to the Lord on November 18, 2020 in Tulsa, OK.

Bob and Anna were married for 52 years, until his death. She is also predeceased by one daughter-in-law, Jo Anne (Ashley) Dobrinski.

She is survived by her children: Calvin & Carolyn Dobrinski of Bristow; Larry Dobrinski of Kansas, OK; Roger & Anna Jo Sellers of Erick; Don and Janice Sue Hoover of Depew; five grandchildren: Levi & Erin Dobrinski of Bristow; Shane and Andrea McCullough of Broken Arrow; David and Heather Seidel of Perryton, TX; Daniel & Lacy Findley of Booker, TX; Lisa Hoover of Depew; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She will be missed by family, friends, former students and her recent caretakers at Prairie Pointe in Stroud.
