New owner of CTX Coffee says her dream was to own a coffee shop

Sapulpa’s beloved CTX Coffee (114 E Dewey), known for its community vibe and excellent brews, has a new face at the helm. Sara Nance, the shop’s new part-owner and manager, has taken over the shop alongside her parents and brother, who helped her secure the business.

Sara, who has spent five years honing her skills in the coffee industry, first ventured into the world of coffee at Boulder Coffee in Sand Springs, OK. It was there that she had a pivotal moment during a casual conversation with her co-workers. When they asked her about her bucket list, Sara replied with a clear, confident answer: “I want to own a coffee shop.” That response marked the beginning of a journey that would eventually lead her to CTX Coffee in Sapulpa.

Before taking over CTX, Sara worked at two other coffee shops, but her true introduction to the mechanics of coffee came from her brother, Carter. He introduced her to the art of pour-overs and various coffee drinks, sparking her fascination with the process and how coffee plays a role in daily life.

Sara’s connection to CTX Coffee dates back to the pre-COVID days when the shop was still in its infancy. While she was in high school, she visited the shop and even applied for a job. CTX was already well-staffed at the time, so she didn’t get the position, but the shop stuck with her. She continued to visit, enjoying the atmosphere and the coffee while dreaming of one day working there. “I remember telling my brother how much I wanted to work at CTX,” she said. Now, after recently graduating from college, Sara is back in Sapulpa, fulfilling that long-held dream.

Sara’s vision for CTX is not about a complete overhaul but about thoughtfully enhancing the shop’s environment to make it more inviting. She plans to update the furniture and fine-tune the ambiance to make it a place where customers feel welcome to “spend the entire day studying, reading, or whatever they need to do.”

As she settles into her new role, Sara says she has already felt an overwhelming sense of warmth from the Sapulpa community. “I feel extremely welcome and at home already,” she shared. “I’m excited for the relationships I’ll be able to form with people here.”

Sara is eager to connect with locals and bring fresh ideas to CTX, all while keeping the essence of the coffee shop intact. With her passion for coffee and her deep-rooted ties to the area, she’s ready to continue CTX’s legacy of being a cherished part of Sapulpa.
