TULSA, Okla. (April 13, 2020) – Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa, a Tulsa-based, community-funded nonprofit serving homebound individuals with nutritious meals and essential services, provides services to the Sapulpa community.
After more than 50 years serving the Tulsa Metro Area, Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa expands services to the Sapulpa community. In light of COVID-19, Meals on Wheels is delivering services effective immediately. If you or someone you know is homebound, you can apply at www.mealsonwheelstulsa.org or by calling 918-627-4105.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to expand our services to the Sapulpa community especially during COVID-19,” said Calvin Moore, president and chief executive officer at Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa. “We have been planning this expansion for some time and in light of COVID-19, we are fortunate enough to be able to move this up so that Sapulpa residents, who are homebound, have access to nutritious meals and essential services during COVID-19 and beyond.”
As part of Meals on Wheels’ COVID-19 response plan, all homebound seniors will receive weekly meal deliveries with one week of meals that can be stored in the freezer or on the shelf to limit the spread of illness. Volunteers are conducting wellness checks via phone call three times per week. Following the pandemic, Meals on Wheels will resume the usual in-person hot meal delivery and wellness checks to the Sapulpa community.
