Man in serious condition after collision early Thursday morning

Sapulpa police say a man is in the hospital in serious condition after he was ejected from his vehicle during a crash on early Thursday morning.

According to Sapulpa Police Captain Troy Foreman, at 12:55 am on July 15th, the driver of a black 2017 Dodge Charger was traveling southbound on Mission Street when he struck a 2006 Dodge Dakota truck at the intersection of Mission and Taft.

Captain Foreman told Sapulpa Times that the driver of the Charger, an unidentified 19-year-old who has a Tulsa address but lives in Sapulpa, was ejected from his vehicle, and had three passengers with him, one of whom was also transported to the hospital with a possible broken leg. The other two were seen by paramedics at the scene, and released. The driver of the truck, who is 23 and from Sapulpa, was also assessed at the scene and released. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed.

Foreman said that police have determined that failure to yield was the cause of the crash, and that their preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol did play a role in the situation.
