Kathy Jacobs arrived to her fabric store at 18 S. Water street on Wednesday morning to a shocking sight: someone had taken a rock about the size of a bowling ball and hurled it through her door.
“My lady who brings me quilts got here shortly before I did this morning and called me and said ‘someone busted out your door,'” Jacobs told Sapulpa Times.
The Sapulpa Police arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and inspected the damage. Jacobs said that aside from the door, the burglar took about $30.00 in change from the register. Nothing else in the store appeared to be touched, aside from a broken curtain rod behind the checkout counter, where the thieves were rummaging through drawers. “I mean, why break into a fabric store?” Jacobs said.
Jacobs is grateful that nobody was hurt and that nothing else was taken but says she’s not sure her insurance would cover the cost of the door. “I’ll probably have to pay for that out of my pocket.”
