Leadership Creek County Class Announced

Ever wonder how Oklahoma Government works, want to meet your State Representative, or see how Ardagh makes glass? How about behind the scenes of the Creek County Jail or learn how your city council works?

Leadership Creek County is a county wide program designed to identify leaders, develop their leadership skills and equip them to assume leadership roles within their local communities.

The Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the 2019 class as we prepare positive people for future community leadership.

The program has four specific objectives: to identify and motivate leaders: to expose those leaders to both opportunities and challenges within the county; to personally acquaint program participants with active leaders and encourage discussion and networking; and to build understanding of the role of leadership in the county.

“The goal for LCC is to encourage future leadership among citizens of Creek County and educate them on education, government, and humanities,” said coordinator Suzanne Shirey.

Sessions will be held each month, times will vary from full day (day at the Capitol) to half days, and graduation will be held in January 2020.

Plans are currently underway to visit Ardagh, the State Capitol, Creek County Jail, County Historical Societies, City Councils and Creek County Commissioners Meetings, and much more.

Tuition for the 2019 Class is $200 for chamber members and $250 non-members (payable to Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce) and is due with a completed application.
