Janet Ann Perkins Hibberd, of Sapulpa, passed from this life into eternity on September 9th, 2016. She was born to Ernest and Mary Delores Perkins on March 11, 1954.

Raised in Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma, Janet graduated from Liberty Mounds High School in 1972 and met her husband Ralph Hibberd a few years later, in 1978. They were married on December 12, 1981.

With the introduction of their first child Julia in 1982, Janet became a stay-at-home mother for a few years, until she decided to pursue her long-time passion of becoming a hairdresser. She attended beauty college in Jenks, and upon graduation, spent the next 30 years living out her dream as a hair stylist.

Janet loved her job, and affectionately referred to her clients as “little old ladies,” many of whom became her very good friends.

In addition to serving her clients in her salon, she was also involved in her children’s lives, serving on the PTO or substituting for teachers at Allen Bowden. The parents, teachers and students she crossed paths with would remember her for her strong will and outgoing nature, but also for her giving heart and unselfish attitude towards others, even complete strangers.

Janet was a cornerstone of her family, often giving to others at her own expense, and frequently putting the needs of her family ahead of herself. She was always seen hosting the family functions and dutifully applying herself wherever she was needed. She will perhaps be most remembered for being fiercely loyal to her family, sacrificing in any way needed to ensure they were taken care of.

A loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, Janet was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind her husband of nearly 35 years, Ralph Hibberd of Sapulpa; her daughter Julia and husband Micah Choquette of Sapulpa; and her son Andrew, of Sapulpa; as well as two grandchildren, Nathan and Reed Choquette. She is survived by siblings Janie and Pat Tollette of Locust Grove; David and Ella Perkins of Beggs; Joy Cline of Kansas City; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Smith Funeral Chapel in Sapulpa. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 14, 2016 also at Smith Funeral Chapel in Sapulpa.

Janet Hibberd will be remembered as “the best mom, Mimi, and friend.”
