How to see the classic cars, live music, and more coming to Sapulpa this weekend

What might be the biggest event on this stretch of Route 66 is happening this weekend, and Sapulpa is using its location as the “Heart of Route 66” to capitalize on that as much as possible.

Tulsa is making Route 66 history with a world-record attempt for the largest classic car parade ever. From vintage muscle to family treasures on four wheels, thousands of stunning cars will cruise right through the heart of the “Capital of Route 66” on May 30, 2026.

The Capital Cruise Expo opens Thursday as the opening event, and Sapulpa’s representatives will be there, handing out 1,000 challenge coins to the classic cars participating in the now-4,500-car parade.

On Saturday, from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM, downtown Sapulpa will be buzzing with its own event, inviting one and all to come and do your shopping, eat, or listen to live music. There will also be an art show and a kids’ area. We should see plenty of classic cars on their way from Tulsa to OKC, as well.
