House fire deemed total loss, cause ruled as ‘undetermined’

The cause of a house fire on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 12th, has been ruled “undetermined” after a short investigation, according to the Sapulpa Fire Department.

Sapulpa firefighters responded to a call on Tuesday, April 12th about a house fire at 505 N. 2nd Street. Firefighter Brad Shields said that when they arrived, the house was “about eighty percent engulfed.”

“The house was a stick and frame house, and when you combine that with the open windows and the strong winds, it didn’t take long for the house to be fully engulfed,” Sheilds said.

Sapulpa Fire Marshal Rod Bell told Sapulpa Times that the quick nature of the fire left them unable to determine a cause for the fire, but he agreed that high winds played an issue in the rapid spread.

There were no injuries sustained in the fire, but the home was deemed “a total loss.”
