A horrific accident on Hwy 75 at 181st street in Glenpool on Thursday afternoon thankfully did not result in fatalities, though photos would suggest otherwise.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol at the scene, the accident occurred at about 1:10 pm when a gold-colored Toyota Camry traveling westbound on 181st failed to yield to an oncoming Navajo semi traveling northbound on Highway 75.

It appears that the semi tried to avoid the collision by quickly changing lanes, ultimately causing the semi to overturn, spilling its load of frozen cat food.

Sapulpa Times heard from the officer that they did not know for sure if the driver of the Camry was trying to cross the entire span of the highway.

OHP says that the drivers of both vehicles are expected to recover, despite the seriousness of the collision. “They’re going to be fine,” they said.
