A former Sapulpa wrestling coach was arrested on charges of making lewd proposals and sexual misconduct with a minor after witnesses said they saw the coach behave inappropriately toward the student.
Cody John Fuller, 37, was arrested on August 5th for the alleged incidents, which according to the affidavit, happened from December of 2024 and into February of 2025, when it was was reported to the police.
According to the arrest affidavit, Fuller began inappropriately messaging a 17-year-old junior at Sapulpa High School, sending her pictures of his genitals via Snapchat.
The situation escalated when the victim said Fuller approached her in the Sapulpa wrestling locker room, where, according to the affidavit, he “touched her genital area and kissed her on the lips.” The victim said Fuller also touched her buttocks and breasts while on school wrestling trips.
Multiple witnesses came forward to inform police that the victim had shown them messages between Fuller and herself, and at least two separate witnesses allege that they saw Fuller touch the victim inappropriately.

According to the affidavit, the victim’s boyfriend posted a statement on Snapchat alerting others to Fuller’s misconduct, at which point, Fuller deleted and blocked the victim on Snapchat. That was on February 22nd, 2025, around the same time that Sapulpa Public Schools fired the coach.
On August 6th, Sapulpa Public Schools released the following statement regarding Fuller’s arrest:
Sapulpa Public Schools is aware of the arrest of a former lay wrestling coach. The district suspended and subsequently terminated the coach in February, immediately following allegations of inappropriate behavior. The district then notified the proper authorities and the state department. He worked as a lay coach, but never taught in a classroom.
Sapulpa Police Captain Troy Foreman told Sapulpa Times that the misconduct was reported to them in February, was subsequently handed over to the Creek County District Attorney’s Office. Foreman said that the arrest warrant went out on August 4th and that Fuller turned himself in not long after.
Sapulpa Public Schools says they continue to encourage community members: “If you see something, say something.”
