Former Kellyville mayor loses truck and house in fire

Former Kellyville Mayor Jim Vogt and his family suffered a fire early Tuesday morning that family say started in his work truck and spread from there, taking out the house as well.

Vogt alerted the community via Facebook this morning with a photo of the home in flames and a single sentence: “My house and tool truck are gone!”

Fire on Ash street in Kellyville, the home of former Kellyville Mayor Jim Vogt.

Vogt’s family was able to get out okay, but the home and truck look to be a total loss. Vogt’s daughter Sarah Smith confirmed on Facebook a short while later, “Everyone made it out ok, but as far as we can tell everything is gone.”

Vogt’s daughter is currently working on securing donations via PayPal. If you’d like to help you can donate to sarahbelle3018@yahoo.com
