A former Drumright Ag teacher has been arrested on child abuse charges after a career spanning nearly four decades.
Bobby Pruitt, 63, was arrested by U.S. Marshals and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol after an investigation by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, according to a statement on the bureau’s Facebook Page.
The Drumright Police Department requested an investigation after they received word that Pruitt had allegedly made inappropriate contact with two students.

Pruitt had been an agriculture teacher for 38 years, working across multiple districts, according to the statement. He was placed on administrative leave in October of 2025 after the allegations were made. He formally resigned his position later that month and turned over his teaching license to the Oklahoma State Board of Education.
During their investigation, OSBI agents concluded that Pruitt did, in fact, make inappropriate contact with students while teaching. Enough evidence was obtained to secure an arrest warrant.
Pruitt was arrested by U.S. Marshals and OHP in Stroud, on two counts of Lewd Molestation, two counts of Child Sexual Abuse, two counts of Child Abuse, and one count of Assault and Battery. He was arrested and booked into the Creek County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
OSBI says the investigation is ongoing, and more details may be released at a later date.
