First United Bank held its Annual Stakeholder Meeting on Monday, Feb. 19 where more than 1,500 employees and 100 partners, customers and community members came together for an uplifting event focused on the company’s purpose and values.

The meeting was held at Choctaw Resort in Durant where the day was spent celebrating First United’s 2017 accomplishments, gaining alignment on 2018 initiatives, and recognizing employees’ hard work and dedication with awards for service, performance and tenure.

First United CEO, Greg Massey, spoke about the company’s values of faith, family, integrity, learning, high-performance teams, relationships and community that are the foundational principles of the organization, and how these can be seen in the different ways employees touch the lives of customers.

“We will make our impact in our communities by living out these guiding principles and helping our community members spend life wisely,” Massey stated. “Our employees wrote our values. They are not something just written on a card somewhere. We strive to live them out each day, and while this creates an amazing work culture, I know we could positively affect others if we extend our values and culture into our communities. Changing lives is what we’re after.”

The event also featured inspirational keynote speeches from Liz Murray and IN-Q.
