FireHouse Ministry: Faith in a Small Town

A hometown business is the result of an individual or a collection of individuals that believe in their community. They are personal touches that add trade and character to an area. What happens when that faith takes one step farther? You get FireHouse Ministries of Bristow, Oklahoma.

Matt Brown and Matt Ball had their hearts spoken to by God, and they took His calling to create an inspirational fixture on Bristow’s Main Street. Both Matts graduated from Bristow schools, they met in 2007 through Matt Ball’s wife’s acquaintanceship with Matt Brown. After discovering both had a strong fellowship in Jesus Christ they began a new friendship. The occasional lunch ended with a prayer each time.

“We were praying for Bristow… We really felt like the Lord was leading us to start a ministry.” – Matt Ball

The small center that hosts FireHouse Ministries at 216 N. Main Street has its doors open every day of the week with designated times for more focused messages. It’s simple, coffee house style ministry is truly a perfect place for not only youth but for all those that seek a place to escape the heavy struggle of the rest of world. Firehouse serves food, snacks, and coffee to those that pass through its doors completely through donations, and help from the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. They also contribute as a middleman endorsing Awe Star mission trips.

“We are a place you can come to and just be still” – Matt Brown

FireHouse serves as a gathering for the evolving youth, ever more focused on personal electronics, hosting free wifi along with it’s donated snacks, all while staying true to delivering teachings from the Holy Bible. Offering a positive alternative to after school and weekend activities to Bristow’s youth, FireHouse is truly a blessing to our small community.

“The righteous gives and does not hold back.” – Proverbs 21:26
