Sapulpa police are investigating the circumstances regarding a fatality accident on New Sapulpa Road on the evening of February 1st.
According to Captain James Lowry, a tractor-trailer rig was backing into the northbound traffic lanes of State Highway 66 (New Sapulpa Road) when a northbound pickup truck crashed into it “at highway speeds,” Lowry said.
Police responded to the accident and found the driver of the pickup truck dead at the scene. Their name has not been released pending notification of next of kin. There was no one else in the truck and the semi-truck driver was not injured.
According to Lowry, the incident remains under investigation by Sapulpa Police Department’s Fatality Collision Investigation Unit.
