Dr. Chris Chenoweth, OD, has purchased Vision Source Sapulpa from Drs. Larry Higgs and Dennis Morris. The optometry office, at 17 South Oak Street, is now part of Chenoweth Eye Center. (Its other office is in Ponca City.)

Chenoweth, originally from the Oklahoma City area, is a graduate of Central State University (Edmond) and Northeastern State University (Tahlequah). A married father of 5, he brings 25 years of optometry experience to Sapulpa, having practiced in the Blackwell and Ponca City area before moving to Jenks and working at the Eye Institute in Tulsa.

Though Chenoweth enjoyed his time at the Eye Institute, he says, “I really like private practice. So when I found out Higgs and Morris were thinking about slowing down, I contacted them.”

“We’re still doing all the things we’ve done before—glasses, contacts, diabetic exams, etc,” Chenoweth says. “But we’ll be bringing some surgery here as well.” Things like treating styes and “some laser procedures.”

Something Chenoweth is excited to announce is the imminent arrival of a new IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) machine to the Sapulpa office. The machine fixes abnormal blood vessels that cause dry eyes—a problem that plagues many.

The machine will be “delivered next week and ready to go next month,” he says.

There will be both new and familiar faces at the office—Chenoweth has brought two techs with him from The Eye Institute, but Cheryl and Helen will remain from the previous practice.
