A 47-year-old man was found deceased in a vehicle behind the QuikTrip at the corner of Taft and Mission on Friday morning.

Police on the scene told Sapulpa Times that they were responding to a welfare check for a person found believed to be passed out in the driver’s seat of the vehicle when they found the person not breathing and unresponsive.

They say an extended family member arrived on the scene and identified the deceased, but they’ve chosen not to release his name. The man was described as “from the area,” but didn’t have an address and was living out of his vehicle.

Sapulpa Police said at the time that they didn’t believe foul play had been involved, and that the man had experienced a medical episode that led to his passing. They later clarified that they did not believe that drugs or alcohol had been involved.
