Deadline approaches to request absentee ballot for Aug. 25 election

Creek County voters who want to vote by absentee ballot in the Aug. 25 election have until 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, to submit their applications.

Applications must be received by the Creek County Election Board by the deadline. Oklahoma voters do not need to provide a reason for requesting an absentee ballot.

“Absentee voting is available to all voters, and it’s easy to apply,” Creek County Election Board Secretary Vicki Martin said. “Voters can submit their application online, in person, by fax, mail or even email.”

Voters can apply online through the OK Voter Portal. Applications may also be obtained from the Creek County Election Board or downloaded from the Oklahoma State Election Board website.

Martin reminded voters that, in most cases, state law prohibits requesting or submitting an absentee-ballot application on behalf of another person.

The Creek County Election Board is located at 230 E. Hobson Ave. in Sapulpa. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Those with questions may call the Election Board at 918-224-3529 or email creekcounty@elections.ok.gov.
