Daniah Blation Crowned Homecoming Queen; Read about the 2023 Homecoming Court

Senior Daniah Blation was crowned Sapulpa’s 2022 Football Homecoming Court, prior to the game against the Memorial Chargers.

Daniah Blation is the daughter of Remisha Ingram and Andre Miles. Daniah is a member of the Sapulpa High School National Honor Society where she volunteered for the Red Cross and donated blood. Daniah plays softball for Sapulpa high school, and she is also on a traveling Softball team. She has been named All-District Utility Player and received the Core Value of Self Control award. Daniah has been named as one of the Top 100 Athletes in Sapulpa for Vype Magazine. Daniah is a member of Faith Church where she volunteers in the baby room and helps with Halloween setup. After high school, Daniah plans to become an RN and then go back to school to become a labor and delivery nurse. She would also like to travel.

Escorting Daniah is senior Jayden Williams, the son of Shane and Debbie Williams. Jayden is a member of the Sapulpa High School varsity basketball and varsity track teams. He is an Academic Letterman and a two-year State Qualifier in track. Jayden has been named as an Academic All-Conference in both basketball and track. Jayden is the Sapulpa High School Key Club Treasurer and an active member of the National Honor Society. He is also a member of the Sapulpa High School Athletic Leadership Council. After high school, Jayden plans to attend medical school.

SOPHOMORES

Mataya Hall is the daughter of Rodrick and Brandi Hall. Mataya is a member of the Sapulpa High School basketball and volleyball teams. She was named Captain of the volleyball team and set the record for most assists in a season and most assists in a career. Mataya is a member of many Sapulpa High School clubs including FCCLA, FCA, and NAACP. Mataya has a 4.1 GPA and has been named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and is a member of NJHS. Mataya attends Life-Church Jenks, and she is a very active member of the youth group. In the future, Mataya plans to go to college to play basketball. She plans on becoming an anesthesiologist and traveling the world.

Zachery Lewis is the son of Leman Jr. and Dee Lewis. Zachery has been named Student of the Month, and he is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Zachery is a member of the Sapulpa High School basketball team. In the 2021-2022 season, Zachery was named “Newcomer Athlete” and “Athlete to Watch in Vype Magazine.” Zachery is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is very active in church. He is an entrepreneur and owns his own lawn business. Zachery plans to continue his education in college and pursue his passion of playing basketball in college with a scholarship.

Evelyn Soares is the daughter of Andy and Liz Soares. Evie has a 4.0 GPA and has been named to Principal’s Honor Roll. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and Leadership. She is the Sophomore Class Treasurer. Evie has been a Sapulpa Ping Ping for two years. She is a two-time National Champion and a five-time State Champion. She has also been a competitive dancer at Ovations Studio and Gym for 12 years, and she teaches younger students dance at Ovations. Evie attends The Way Church and is an active member of The Way Youth Group. Evie plans to attend The University of Oklahoma and major in the Sports field. She hopes to spend a semester studying abroad.

Daymond Stufflebeam is the son of Summer Brown and Ray Stufflebeam. Daymond is a member of the Sapulpa Varsity Football Team. Daymond is also a member of Sapulpa High School Student Council and is the Sophomore Class President. Daymond plans to attend The University of Oklahoma and major in the business/economics field.

JUNIORS

Jasmine Brown is the daughter of Rebecca and David Watkins and Joe Brown. Jasmine has a 3.7 GPA and has been named to the Principal’s Honor Roll. She is the Junior Class Vice President. Jasmine is a member of the Sapulpa High School Cross Country and Track teams. Jasmine is a two-time Cross Country State Qualifier and is currently ranked 17th in 5A Cross Country runners. In track, she is a two-time State Finalist in the 100 Meter Dash and Relays, and her 4×100 relay team set a new Sapulpa High School record. Jasmine attends Carbondale Assembly of God, and she went on a Mission Trip to Mexico City. Jasmine plans to attend The University of Oklahoma on a track scholarship and become a Dental Hygienist.

Joseph Hunter is the son of Joe and Tiffany Hunter. Joseph enjoys being at the gym and powerlifting. He also loves the outdoors especially when he is hunting. Joseph likes being a mechanic too. Joseph attends The Way Church. After high school, Joseph plans to attend Oklahoma Technical College for welding.

Acree Ernst is the daughter of Matt and Angie Ernst. Acree has a 4.17 GPA and has been named to the Principal’s Honor Roll. She is also the Junior Executive Member of National Honor Society. Acree is a three year member of Sapulpa Ping Ping Dance Team. As a Ping, Acree has won eight State Championships and Two National Championships. Acree has danced at Ovations Studio and Gym for 14 years. Acree attends The Way Church. Acree plans to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Criminal Psychology.

Hudson Coats is the son of Chelsea and Dusty Penn. Hudson is a member of the Sapulpa High School Baseball Team. Hudson attends The Way Church and was formerly in the youth leadership group at Guts Church. Hudson’s immediate goal is to attend college and play baseball. He plans to study and become an Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist.

Destinee Miller is the daughter of Dustin Miller. Destinee is a member of the Sapulpa High School Varsity Cross Country and Track teams. She is a 5A State Qualifier in Cross Country and is a three-year Varsity Cross Country Letterman. Destinee also received the honor of Academic All-Conference. Destinee attends Victory Church. In the future, Destinee plans to receive a scholarship at Oklahoma State University for Cross Country and become a Dental Hygienist.

Micco Jones is the son of Jessica Cahwee and Paul Harjo. Micco is a member of the Sapulpa High School Football, Baseball and Wrestling teams. Micco placed in the Top 8 at the State Wrestling Tournament as a freshman. He has also been named Academic All-Conference and Honorable Mention for Wrestling and Baseball. Micco attends Allen Freewill Baptist Church, and he is a member of the Polecat Ceremonial Grounds. After high school, Micco plans to attend college and get an engineering degree.

SENIORS

Rosie Bell is the daughter of Leonard and April Bell. Rosie has a 3.5 GPA, has been named to the Principal’s honor roll, and is a member of Sapulpa High School Leadership. Rosie is a member of the Solo Ensemble. They have won five district awards and four state medals. She has been on Color Guard for two years, in choir for seven years, and she has played Club Volleyball for six years. Rosie plans to attend college where she will major in vocal performance with a minor in business. She hopes to someday teach children one of her passions, which is music.

Marcus Medina is the son of Julio and Jennifer Medina. Marcus has a 4.1 GPA and has been named to the Principal’s Honor Roll. For three years, Marcus has been a starter for the varsity football team, and he is currently the senior captain. Marcus has played football in Sapulpa since first grade. He attends North Heights Church. Marcus plans to complete welding coursework at Central Tech and pursue a career in welding fabrication.

Hailey Birdwhistell is the daughter of Desiree’ Miller and Nate and Hannah Birdwhistell. For three years Hailey has maintained a 3.5 GPA and has been named to the Principal’s honor roll and Academic All-Conference by the Frontier Valley Conference. Hailey is a Sapulpa High School football and basketball trainer, and has lettered for three years. Haley is a part of Young Minds/Big Ideas, and she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. After high school Hailey plans to attend Oklahoma State University to become an elementary school teacher and later become a principal of an elementary school.

Xander Konell is the son of Shawntia Feathers and Jeremiah and Sheila Konell. Xander is a two-time Frontier Valley Academic All Conference, and he has been named to the Principal’s Honor Roll. Xander is also lucky enough to have received Mr. Lusk’s “Lusky” Champion Award! Xander Is a four-year Sapulpa High School varsity football player, and he is a Senior Captain. For three years, he has been a Sapulpa High School wrestler. Xander is involved with the Sapulpa high school leadership team. He is also a Blue-Gray Football All-American, and is part of Team USA Football. In his spare time, Xander enjoys skydiving. After high school Xander plans to pursue a college degree in either engineering or physical therapy while playing college football.

Grace Givens is the daughter of Greg and Audra Givens. Grace is an Academic Letterman. She has a 4.3 GPA and is annually named to the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. Grace has been a member of the Sapulpa High School Cross Country team for seven years, and she is a four year Varsity Letterman She has been on the Sapulpa High School track team for six years, and she is a three year Varsity Letterman. Grace is the Sapulpa High School National Honor Society Vice President, the SHS Student Council Philanthropy Chair, the Key Club Vice President, and she was the Class of 2023’s Sophomore and Junior Class President. Grace is an active volunteer in her community. She is a Make-A-Wish Youth Leadership Council Executive Board Member, and she is a member of Life Church in Jenks. After high school Grace plans to attend The University of Oklahoma, like her sister, and become a pediatric surgeon. Boomer!

Riley Groves is the son of James and Shannon Groves. Riley has a 4.25 GPA, and is the Sapulpa High School National Honor Society president. He is the recipient of the Chieftain Core Value Award for Honor. Riley is a five-time NCDA Honor Band member. He has received multiple superior ratings at OSSAA Solo and Ensemble Contests. Riley is a Band and Academic Letterman. Riley is a Percussionist in the Sapulpa High School Concert Band, and he plays piano in the Jazz Band. Riley is the Drum Major of Sapulpa’s Big Blue Band. He is also a Sapulpa Band’s Leadership Team member. After high school Riley plans to attend Oklahoma State University and study Music Education. Go pokes!

Ava Sweat is the daughter of Tabitha and Blake Downs and Nathan Sweat. Ava has a 3.7 GPA and has received an Academic Letter. She is a four-year Sapulpa High School Band Color Guard and Winter Guard member. For three years, she has lettered in Color Guard. Ava is on the Color Guard and Winter Guard Leadership team. Ava is an active member of the Sapulpa High School National Honor Society and yearbook. Ava plans to attend the University of Oklahoma in the Fall of 2023 and major in Psychology with a minor in Sociology.

Isaiah Peterson is the son of Kimberly and Phillip Barton and Steve Peterson and Tanya Pollard. Isaiah is Sapulpa High School Big Blue Band’s first feature Baton Twirler since 2002, and has been a member of Color Guard for four years. Isaiah has received three Superior division ratings in Winter Guard Solo and Ensemble. He has lettered three times for Color Guard. He has also been a member of the Color Guard Leadership team. Isaiah attends Central Tech, and he is currently serving as the vice president of the Central Tech Business Information Technology. Isaiah attends Shulter Baptist Church and is actively involved with the youth ministry. He is the Vacation Bible School Music and Choreography Director, and has attended Falls Creek eight years. After graduation, Isaiah plans to finish the Business Program at Central Tech and then attend Tulsa Community College and Oklahoma State University to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Accounting. He also aspires to become an LPN and work at St. Francis Hospital. Isaiah would love to be a Color Guard Tech or Director while attending college and perform for one of the best Winter guard International Independent programs and Top Drumcore and perform in the NBTA World Championship Circuits.
