At their Monday meeting, the Board of County Commissioners of Creek County approved the signing of a letter from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for the reclassification of a “functionally classified road” to a “local road,” due to its “loss in connectivity” from an impassable bridge. The road was identified as West 141st Street South, between South 305th West Avenue and South 337th West Avenue, near Heyburn Lake.

District #2 Commissioner Leon Warner and Acting District #3 Commissioner Roger Smith reported that this is the dividing line between their districts and that the “bridge has been out for some time.” The letter documented the new mileage from 0 to 0.34 miles to ODOT, to update partial credit received by the County.

A Utility Permit from FiberLink, LLC per County Specs for fiber optic cable was approved to parallel West 161st Street South, approximately 1 mile south of the junction of South Hickory and West 161st Street South in District #1.

District #1 Commissioner Newt Stephens asked Glen Messer to speak with FiberLink about cleanup, as the mowing season has arrived, and the County will be mowing ditches. “We do not want to damage equipment,” explained Stephens.
