Creek County elected officials and appointed Board members were sworn into office by District Judge Douglas Golden Tuesday morning in Judge Golden’s courtroom.
Newly-elected County Assessor Haley Anderson was sworn into office, as well as incumbent County Commissioners Jarrod Whitehouse and Newt Stephens. Excise and Equalization Board members Rusty Parnell and Rick Engleman took their oath of office after having been reappointed by the BOCC.



The courtroom was packed with other county officials, sheriff’s deputies, friends, relatives, and well-wishers. Among those in the gallery were District Attorney Max Cook, Assistant District Attorney Andrew Goforth, Sheriff Bret Bowling, and County Treasurer Don Engle.
In other County business, The BOCC unanimously passed a motion to keep the current slate of Board officers. Newt Stephens remains the Chair, Leon Warner remains the Vice Chair, and Jarrod Whitehouse, remains a member of the Board.
Commissioners unanimously passed a motion to sign Resolution#2023-1, allowing employees driving county-owned vehicles and equipment to take them home at night. Commissioner Warner told the Sapulpa Herald that this policy was being enacted to improve logistics.
The Board unanimously passed a motion to sign Resolution#2023-2, appointing Jarrod Whitehouse as the representative for CED (Circuit Engineering District) #1.
Commissioners unanimously passed a motion to accept Bid#23-9 Mobile Concrete Crushing and Screening Processing Services, and award the bid to Mike Wofford Trucking and Grading LLC.
The Board unanimously passed a motion to sign a service contract with Show Inc. for paper shredding and recycling services for the Creek County Sheriff’s Office.
Commissioners unanimously passed a motion to approve a utility permit request from Kyle Ray per county Specs for curb cut for a road, by cut at 81st St. approximately ½ mile E. of Frankoma located in Section 13, T18N, R10E in District #2.
Chair Newt Stephens gave an update on the renewal of the County’s SAMS.GOV(a website used to register vendors receiving federal funds) account.
Counsel Andrew Goforth stated he had assisted the Sheriff’s Office with their renewal of
SAMS.GOV and they have received an email confirming renewal.
The Board of County Commissioners meet every Monday at 9 a.m. at the Collins Building.
